Reuben Berman is the founder of Entrada Partners, a full service real estate investment and advisory firm headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Entrada's current portfolio consists of over $50 million of commercial properties.
Before founding Entrada Partners, Reuben worked in the acquisitions and development group at Kor Realty Group, a Los Angeles based real estate firm focused on apartments, condominiums, boutique hotels and resorts. At Kor, Reuben led the acquisition and disposition of $330 million worth of multifamily properties. Prior to Kor, Reuben worked at AEW Capital Management, a real estate pension fund advisor with $32 billion of assets under management. At AEW, Reuben worked with Joint Venture operating partners to acquire over $500 million of commercial real estate, sell a $615 million portfolio of office buildings to Arden Realty, negotiate debt facilities and underwrite numerous other investment opportunities. Prior to joining AEW, he worked at Wells Fargo Bank's Real Estate Group underwriting construction loans and borrowers for new real estate developments.
Reuben earned a BS in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley as well as an MBA from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA. Reuben is a past President and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Haas Alumni Network, Los Angeles Chapter. He is also actively involved with the ULI Young Leaders Group, the Jewish Federation Real Estate and Construction division and the Jewish Federation New Leaders Program where he worked on a task force to help solve the Los Angeles housing crisis.
As a Principal of Entrada, Justin Schuman oversees all of the firm’s asset management and property management services. Prior to Entrada, Justin was a Senior Vice President at JRK Residential Group, an apartment platform that owns and/or manages over 35,000 units nationwide and was recently ranked as the 30th largest apartment management company in the nation. At JRK, Justin oversaw eight Regional Managers and was directly responsible for a portfolio of 11,700 units nationwide with annual revenues exceeding $85 million. His role included all facets of property management including revenue and expense optimization, multimillion dollar renovation programs, operations, accounting, human resources and training.
In addition to his day to day operational and management activities, Justin was instrumental in developing and implementing key processes and infrastructure that enabled the rapid growth of JRK from 12 properties to 170 properties over the span of two years. The operational strategy included the development and integration of systems for budgeting, accounting, property management, financial reporting, communication and information technology.
Prior to his work at JRK Residential Group, Justin was the Real Estate Investment Manager for Nazarian Enterprises, a high net-worth family office in Los Angeles. In that capacity, he invested over $100 million of equity over three years in all real estate asset classes. Additionally, he was responsible for the overall investment performance of $175 million of equity spread across 60 investments in hotels, apartments, condominiums, office, industrial and opportunity funds.
He was also previously employed with AIMCO (NYSE: AIV), the third largest multifamily owner / operator in the country with over 150,000 units under management. At AIMCO, Justin worked in the operations, finance and acquisitions/dispositions departments. Justin graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a BA in Business Economics and received an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania. He currently lives in Santa Monica, California with his wife and daughter.
